The following is a list of Departments and Divisions located in the University. Between departments and divisions that have the Academic Division, Division of Human Resources, the Registry is divided into four units, namely Transport Unit, Legal Unit and Discipline Unit, Security, and Unit Govenan.

The Academic Division was established in 1998 under the Registry Department. The division consists of 7 units, the Intake Unit, Registration Unit, the Examination Unit, the Degree Award Unit, the Senate / Administration, Finance and Quality Unit, the Development and Planning Unit, and the Information System and Record Unit.introduction website
The Corporate Communication Division performs the function of liasing with media agencies and institutions which are active in the field of education within Malaysia as well as internationally. Its main objective is the promotion of interest in the university programmes in a big way and at the same time to promote the image of the university worldwide.
In the wake of developments worldwide, the demand toward globalization calls for renewed efforts in various internal issues of the university. The Division serves as the mechanism that connects the university with the current developments in the international arena in an effort to consolidate the university administration so as to enable it to provide the best service to students, in particular, to foreign students.
The Human Resource Division is under the Registry Department, headed by a Senior Deputy Registrar. The Division is divided into three sub divisions, General Services, Human Resource Management, and Human Resource Development.introduction website
The Bursary Department is responsible for the administration and the management of all financial matters on all activities of the university as was provided for in Part V of the University Constitution under the University and the University College Act and Statutory Bodies's Act 1960.introduction website
The Governance Division under the Registry Department, was established as the nucleus and the core to the University administration in the planning, development and the implementation of decisions consistent with the vision and mission of the University.introduction website
The Department for Development and Property Management was established as the nuclues and the core to the University administration in the planning, development and the implementation of decisions consistent with the vision and mission of the University.introduction website
The Department for Student Affairs was established with the aim of providing ancillary services to students. Among the facilities provided are the Health Centre, Residential Colleges, Student Express Welfare Assistance and the provision of overnight facilities to students' relatives at the UPSI Guest House. The campus bus service for travel outside the university is also provided to the student beside the cafeteria facilities, the laundry and the emergency services (ambulance).
The Student and Housing Service Unit manages the students' campus residence in the University. The unit also provide advisory services to students who have residential problems. The Administrative, Finance and Student Development Unit provides counseling and career service in conjunction with alumni relation and cultural activities for the students. Consultancy services are also provided for student who have difficulties in legal matters, in particular for fireign students.
The Academic Development & Quality Division which was formerly known as the Quality Assurance Centre was upgraded on 1st October 2008. The Division is responsible for making knowledge seeking as a culture and for promoting quality management on the basis of universal values.
The Division has several units and functions. The program Evaluation Unit (Human Capital Related Skills, Entrepreneurship, English Language Usage) is responsible for building, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of all university programmes. The Academic Quality Assurance Unit is responsible for the management of all aspects related to quality assurance such as MS ISO 9001:2008, MQA, UPSI Rating, the organizing of Malim Lectures and the management of Innovative and Creative Group and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
The Teaching Practice and Industry Liason Unit is responsible for managing and establishing professional liason with schools for teacher training placement and with industries for the perpose of industrial training placement. The Academic Development Unit is responsible for managing and monitoring the teaching and learning innovation in the University, building up teaching and learning modules and the Continuing Professional Development Programmes.
An early step towards the establishment of the Sultan Idris Educational Museum began as far back as the 1950s. At the same time the museum was known as the SITC Museum. It was just a small museum which maintained artifacts related to education at SITC and the local life style.introduction website
The Tuanku Bainun Library obtained the recognition of the MS ISO 9001 : 200 certifications in 2002. The library is currently with more than 222,000 titles and more 300,000 reference materials which support the teaching and learning and for student research. In addition it provides the online services for borrowing materials, the inter-library loan service and the on line data base service.
The online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is provided for searching library reading materials and the online data base facilities to trace journal articles. The infrastructure specifically for the post graduates, is provided to assist learning using the latest information technology and the necessary software equipped with Student Learning Centre based on the concept of thin Client for performing tasks and for website through intranet.
