Institute of Graduate Studies

The Centre for Graduate Studies at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris(UPSI), formerly known as the Postgraduate Unit, was established along with the formation of UPSI in 1997. In year 2000 the Postgraduate Unit was upgraded into Centre for Graduate Studies. In the year 2005 it was upgraded into Institute of Graduate Studies since 1 October 2005 to enhance the functions and fulfilling the need to expand Graduate Programmes. The Institute offer programmes at Master and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) levels.

Institute of Malay Civilisation

The Institute of Malay Civilization was established on 12 June 2001 to carry out research on Malay culture and civilizations. This includes the development of sicio-culture on ethnics and comprehension in local civilization so that the knowledge will promote the progress of future generation. This is done through documentation and academic reading of survey research as well as conferences and talk on ralated matters.

UPSI was officially established on May 1, 1997 as an institution of higher education and intends to conduct our activities.It was submitted to Y.Bhg.Dato, the first of Vice Chancellor UPSI on August 28, 2000.

Centre for Modern Languages

The Centre for Modern Language was established in June 2003.On 1st June 2004, the Centre for Modern Language moved to Anjung Bendahara, Bangunan Tadahan Utara and from 1st July 2005 it occupied a new office on Level 3 Malim Sarjana Complex.

Islamic Centre

The Islamic Centre was created for Muslim students who want to deepen their k.nowledge and understanding of the Muslim world. As spiritual development is necessary to balance self personality development, a range of activities are organised by students to increase understanding amongst Muslims on campus.

Centre for Cocurriculum

Co-curricular activities are part of the study programme component which is compulsory for students' academic qualifications. This Centre runs 50 courses and involves 4000 students, 50 teachers and 100 coaches. The Centre has stress a program of soft sk.ills in every activities being carried out. The Centre's main objective is to provide students an opportunity to balance academic excellence with social activities.

Aminuddin Baki Centre for Global Studies

The Centre for Global Studies was established in 2004 to familiarize staff and students with contemporary global issues. Credit goes to the VC of the University, Datuk Dr Muhammad Rais Abdul Karim, for initiating the idea that led to the establishment of the Centre.

Research Management Centre

Research Management Centre (RMC), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris is the nucleus for the advancement of the university's research, consultancy and innovation services. The division contributes to the social, economic, and intellectual development of the nation in general, through its multitude of services offered to organizations interested in renewal, progress, innovation and change.

National Child Development Research Centre

The centre carries out education-related research, for the purpose of creating and legislating the curriculum for early childhood education and preschools. It is also involved in parenting development programmes that provide parents with the knowledge to face future global challenges. The centre is also monitoring the implementation of the pilot programme 'Anak Permata Negara' that was initiated under the management of the Prime Minister 's Department and has since expanded countrywide.

Centre for International Relations

In today’s increasingly interdependent and competitive global setting. It is vitally important that universities everywhere make a concerted effort to enhance their international dimension in education and training policies.With that in mind, the Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Tanjong Malim, established its Centre for International Relations on 2/9/2002.

Sports Centre

Science and Technology Studies is an interdisciplinary field of study in which methods of analysis from a wide range of fields in the humanities and social sciences are used to study the relations among science, technology and society.

Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Centre

The ICT centre was established on 11 June 2001. It serves to provide the latest information and technology services to assist all staff and students. Besides functioning as a database manager for the university, this centre is targeting to develop more university students to be well versed with the information system employed.

Centre for Educational Technology & Multimedia

The Centre for Educational Technology and Multimedia (CETM) was upgraded from the Educational Technology Unit, which was under the administration of the Faculty of Cognitive Science and Human Development (FGSHD), in the year 2001 and was placed in the Chancellery till today.

Internal Audit Unit

The Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris Internal Audit Unit (UAD-UPSI) is placed by administration under the offices of the Vice Chancellor, but, by function the unit is responsible to the Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris Audit Committee. The University Audit Committee is made up of 3 members and a secretary (Head of Internal Audit).
